I cant believe they really did this...
I know plain well this movie has a chance to be epic but knowing that it wont be anything like the actually "Manhwa"...then,then,theres just no ****** point!!!

This right here is a promo picture of what you will see in the upcoming film adaption of the popular manhwa(korean manga),named "Priest".
I dont think it will be right to write the whole plotline of the series, since its so complicated but i could tell you this...
Priest(the film) is basically about,a priest (Who might or might not be named "Ivan Isaacs" since the synopsis is beyond the original manhwa) who goes against the church to track down a band of vampires who have kidnapped his niece. The film centers around a world where vampires and humans are at war. >_> The thing is,the manga has nothing to do with Ivan having a neice or even vampires for that. Read the D*** first page of the manhwa and u'll see that from the start, this wasnt some crazy normal or usual creepy vampire story..it had many to do with God,Angels,Fallen angels, and the devil..souls being sold for a chick,ya know...
And Priest really took a great deal into this topic that isnt exactly touched...

so far worse,i dont even think that Gerard Butler is even in this movie anymore, unlike how it was supposed to be before...
And since i dont see long hair on this picture i dont even know if its Ivan for sure or Betheal[Belial] (Who is the bad dude Ivan makes a deal with;and shows up a lot through the manhwa)
If you wanna see this Manhwa for yourself.. check it out here --->>> http://www.mangafox.com/manga/priest/
And also...how will this exatly work? Normal Priest, gets neice stolen and just somehow becomes vampire killing machine?._.
This is like Ghost Rider,Ivan made a "deal",thats how he became badass... o_o

This film, right now as known..stars Cam Gigandet(From Twilight) and Paul Bettany(From IDK,but hes the Guy In Pic) and is planning release in august 13,2010 -_-

I met the director, very nice guy. Look forward to this film and his big one "Legion".

So, it seems the release date has been moved back... and then forward again. It's now set at August 27th.

And yet, we still have to see any more promo pictures or a trailer. Post-production worries? :|

Well, I doubt that this effected the film's production but his company, The Orphanage, had to shut down one of two of its offices, the one in San Francisco, and I'm almost 100% positive that they only have two offices, one in LA and one in San Francisco. But this was awhile ago and things may have improved. But the layoffs might have effected the film, you never know. However, they are a very hardworking bunch so if they pushed back the film's release its not because they are mean people at all, its because of a perfectly reasonable logistical issue or creative issue. After all, there are many moving parts in a film's production that can go wrong, so who knows.

New update: the director's announced that the film is going to have a prologue done in 2D animation. Given the point at which this is being announced, I can only hope this isn't just going to be a tacked on addition. Often animated segments in movies that aren't Kill Bill or Monty Python and the Holy Grail are really lazily done.

I'd be real disappointed if they just decided to tack it on. It needs to feel legitimate. People might get turned off before the movie even starts if it's too cheesy.
